Kimba has been named a finalist across two national tourism awards programs, the 2020 Australian Street Art Awards and the 2020 Grey Nomad Awards.
The town has been selected in the street art awards’ Best Mega Mural category for its silo mural, as well as in the Best Grey Nomad Council Free-Stay category for the Kimba Recreation Reserve.
The winners for the awards will be announced at an awards ceremony on the Sunshine Coast in Queensland on Tuesday, March 2.
Kimba’s silos were painted by artist Cam Scale in 2017 and stretch across five and a half silos, standing at more than 60 metres wide and 25m high, depicting a young girl standing in a wheat field amid a stunning sunset.
The reserve offers free non-powered camping close to the town…
